Wonderful Cinema
Abstract
Demby praises Cudowny Kinemo. Rosyjska myśl filmowa [Wonderful Cinema: The Russian Film Thought], the anthology by Tadeusz Szczepański and Bogusław Żyłko. The book recalls achievements of Soviet film science, which was so important for the history and theory of the world cinematography. In post-Communist Poland it is still neglected and of marginal importance. Cudowny Kinemo broadens horizons of reflections on the cinema of its early years, supplements its picture with lesser known comments by classics of the Soviet cinematic thought and restores their original freshness. Demby writes that the book is a must for film theoreticians and historians and also an interesting fact for ordinary viewers.
