Abstract

For Jerzy Wójcik, elements - water, fire, earth, wind, snow - are of enormous significance not only to the visual layer of the movie but also to its content and interpretation. Elements set the world in motion, create its fullness, are visualization of its sense and bring the film closer to human experience of this world. The cameraman talks in an interview with Kuśmierczyk about the influence of his feeling of elements on his work with the camera, on how he incidentally came at the theory of fractals through a lens, on the future of the cinema which - in his view - lies in the discovery of the invisible divine meanings in visible elements.
