Art is Energy!
Abstract
The article is a review of the publication Józef Robakowski. Obrazy energetyczne. Zapisy bio-mechaniczne (Energetic Paintings. Biomechanical Recordings) 1970-2005, edited by Piotr Krajewski and Violetta Kutlubasis-Krajewska. It contains a book and 3 DVDs with Robakowski’s film and video works. Taszycka gives short descriptions of his works recorded on DVDs, trying to find in this compilation the qualities typical of Robakowski’s production, and examining both the rationale behind the selection of the subject matters and his distinctive filmmaking methods. The review contains a discussion of the book composed of two texts dedicated to the artist’s work, comments on his inspirations and views on art as well as reminiscences of his youth, including those from the period of Film Form Workshop.
