Abstract

The article is an attempt to confront Chris Marker’s film La Jetée (1962) with works that have been inspired by it. Although the experiment of the French director remained obscure for many years, today it inspires filmmakers, musicians and even the directors of music video clips. The author argues that it is because the film does not fall within the mainstream, but tries to “reinvent” the cinema. That is why artists belonging to new generations of revolutionaries and experimenters like to refer to it in their own work.
