Repetition: An Experiment in Ethnography
Abstract
Ciarka seeks the common denominator for the films of Piotr Borowski’s End of song (2007) and Jagna Knittel’s The songs that I seek (2008). In their construction and narrative these films stand apart from typical documentary and ethnographic films, in that they present an extremely subjective view of reality. Ciarka attempts to frame his analysis using Kierkagaard’s model of repetition.
