Abstract
The review discusses the book Rozpowszechnianie filmów w Polsce Ludowej w latach 1944-1956 [Film Distribution in the Polish People’s Republic in 1944-1956] (2022), which provides critical editions of source texts related to film distribution in the early years of the Polish People’s Republic after World War II. The reviewer notes the high scientific value of the publication, which constitutes a valuable source of information and analysis on cinema in the Polish socialist state. He emphasizes that the book makes a significant contribution to the growing body of literature on the subject and results in expanding our knowledge, while also serving as a basis for future research and providing an opportunity for stronger connections between film history research and research on political, social, and economic history.
