Moistmedia Art: “When the Jaguar Lies Down With the Lamb”
Abstract
A natural combination of systems, the „dry” digital world of computers, and the „moist” biological world of living creatures, will create in future a new „moist medium” that will be necessary in a process of communication with the surrounding reality.

Założyciel i szef CaiiA-STAR (www.caiia-star.net), stworzonej w 1994 r. jako platforma zaawansowanych badań nad sztuką interaktywną i rozwojem kultury postbiologicznej na Uniwersytecie Walijskim w Newport (UWCN) i Uniwersytecie w Plymouth (Wielka Brytania). CaiiA- STAR to zespół badawczy złożony z przedstawicieli różnych dziedzin (mixed reality, architektura, performance, rzeczywistość wirtualna, muzyka, transgenika, alife, tech-noetyka, telematyka, telerobotyka, oraz inne nowe formy artystyczne, zachowania i gatunki). Od 1997 organizuje Consciousness Reframed, międzynarodowe forum dyskusyjne na temat sztuki, techniki i świadomości. Prowadzi wykłady z dziedziny sztuki interaktywnej na UWCN, sztuki technoetycznej na Uniwersytecie w Plymouth, na wydziale Projektowania i Sztuki Medialnej Uniwersytetu Kalifornijskiego w Los Angeles (USA). Jest też pionierem zastosowania cybernetyki i telematyki w sztuce. Pokazywał swoje prace na Biennale Weneckim i wystawach Electra w Paryżu, Ars Electronica w Linzu, V2 w Holandii, na Triennale w Mediolanie, Biennale do Mercosul w Brazylii, Europejskim Festiwalu Mediów, w gr2000az w Grazu itd. Pracował w San Francisco Art Institute w Kalifornii, na wydziale teorii komunikowania Uniwersytetu Sztuk Stosowanych w Wiedniu, w Ontario College of Art w Toronto. Jest członkiem rad redakcyjnych „Leonardo”, „Digital Creativity” „Convergence” oraz chińskiego pisma o sztuce online „Tom.Com”. Jest doradcą centrów medialnych w Ameryce, Europie, Azji i w Ameryce Południowej.
