Abstract

Burzyńska-Keller analyzes Has’s film as an integral film composition, a work of art parallel to the theme and mood of Brunon Schulz’s prose. She explores the film plots and elements inspired by Chassidism and Talmud, and Has’s knowledge of „Jewish wisdom” and habits. Assuming that time is the film’s main hero, Burzyńska-Keller gives concrete examples to compare the ways time is depicted by Has and Schulz.
