Abstract

From the very beginning Murnau’s film went down in history and became part of the canon of world cinema but its value is also measured by the influence it has on future generations. Szczepański tells how the film affected his imagination almost from childhood and how many aspects the filmmakers did not foresee have an influence on the aesthetic value of the work.
