Postmodernity According to Besson
Abstract
Plat says that Luc Besson’s films tell – in an extremely suggestive and moving way – about the lot of man in contemporary world; about man’s loneliness, alienation and uprootedness. Plat makes use of the Zygmunt Bauman-employed classification of personal patterns defining ways of life of contemporary people; the player, vagabond, tourist and flaneur. Besson’s heroes are characterized according to the model.
