Abstract

Kwiatkowski presents some trends in Sweden’s feminist film thought, among other things, on the basis of Tyttia Soila’s 1991 doctoral thesis The Face of a Woman. Kwiatkowski observes that not all women film directors support feminist theories, and that not every man-made film has to represent the patriarchal order”. He even asks whether this order is a myth. Without elaborating he makes a precise analysis of the plot of the masculine view on woman as a sexual object.
