Iceland’s Film Today: The Profile of Fridrik Thór Fridriksson
Abstract
Iceland’s cinema has been until recently virtually non-existent and unknown internationally. Iceland’s cinematography has only recently become known and boasted of a few names who have already gained fame in the world film industry. Sowińska-Gogacz describes the profile of Fridrik Thór Fridriksson, discussing his films and the recurring plots. His films, saturated with simple truths, portray people united by a common mythical tradition, by a certain conception of the world, and an old and new history.
