Abstract
Jarecka’s text, which characterizes animated film heroes, includes a preface on the history of cartoons and reflections on the construction of cartoons with regard to the requirements of children’s perception. Answering the question whether an animated film hero is an actor, Jarecka discusses the art of animated expression, whose constituting elements include costume, beauty, the facial expression of animated heroes and objects. The mythical dimension of animated cartoon stars is discussed in the final part of the text.
