From “Tango” to “Kafka”: From Classical Animation to Digital Movies
Abstract
Bielawski explores the artistic career of Zbigniew Rybczyński from the point of view of the techniques he used; from analog, through magnetic to digital recording. Bielawski says that Rybczyński has always looked for such technological solutions that would be closest to his definition of the cinema, denial of the imitation of life (which he thinks traditional movies are). He has always experimented by trying to adjust an artistic language to newest technological inventions and at the same time he himself has become an inventor to fully express his experiments. Bielawski says that Rybczyhski’s experiments in the field of technical solutions are just a slow evolution and a continuous improvement of only one recording technique, that is multiple exposure. Bielawski explores the director’s experiments, writing about his encounters with High Definition (HD) and Motion Control (Simulation System).
