“Tokyo, Ga”, or Tokyo According to Wim Wenders
Abstract
Rainka examines the film director’s trip to Tokyo. Wenders went to Tokyo with a video camera to confront his notions of the places from the film world of Japanese director Yasujiro Ozu with the reality of the year 1983, and to pay tribute to the master. For Wenders, the work of Yasujiro Ozu was a sacred treasure of the cinema.
