This article is devoted to Polish-born film director Walerian Borowczyk who has died recently.

Studiował psychologię i filozofię na Keele University; ukończył filozofię na Warwick University. Autor recenzji filmowych i licznych artykułów dotyczących kultury Europy Środkowej, publikowanych m.in. w „The Independent”, „The Wire” czy „Aktivist”. Zorganizował pierwsze w Wielkiej Brytanii retrospektywne pokazy twórczości Andrzeja Żuławskiego (Ciné Lumière, London 1998), Jerzego Skolimowskiego (Leeds International Film Festival 1999), Waleriana Borowczyka (Lux Centre. London 2001) i Juraja Jakubisko (National Film Theatre 2004). W roku 2002 ukazała się jego pierwsza książka - Roman Polański, zaś w 2003 roku wyprodukował trzy filmy dokumentalne o Romanie Polańskim dla Anchor Bay Entertainment, w których znalazły się wywiady m.in. z: Romanem Polańskim, Gene Gutowskim, Andrzejem Wajdą, Januszem Morgensternem i Andrzejem Kostenko. W latach 2003-2004 nakręcił kilka krótkich filmów o działalności Orkiestry Antycznej i Labyrinth Dance: Performing Ancient Music Today, Hode Galatan i Labyrinth Dances.
