AI POLICY
Kwartalnik Filmowy follows COPE recommendations regarding the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, both LLM and multimodal models, in preparing the manuscript for submission. Generative AI cannot be named as an author and authors are fully responsible and accountable for the content of their article, including parts prepared with any kind of AI assistance.
Rules Applying to Authors:
- The author is allowed to use Generative AI tools exclusively to polish the language of their text or to improve the readability of their writing. The author is obliged to check and edit the result.
- The author is not allowed to use AI tools to generate part or the whole manuscript beyond making editorial corrections.
- If AI tools were used for translation of author’s original work, the translation must be critically reviewed by the author before inclusion in the manuscript.
- The use of AI tools in the research process should be done with authorial oversight and control to avoid generation of false or biased information and content with incorrect or missing attribution, the author should disclose the use of AI tools to editors when submitting the manuscript in the declaration posted as a “Comment to editors”, including the type of tools used, the aim of the use, and the extent of their oversight. In case of the basic checks of grammar, spelling, and punctuation this disclosure and declaration is not necessary.
Rules Applying to the Editorial Team and Peer-Reviewers:
- The editors and peer-reviewers must not upload unpublished manuscripts or their parts to Generative AI tools due to privacy and confidentiality requirements.
