Abstract

Book Review of: Witold Lutosławski. Correspondence with his Western Publishers and Managers. 1966–1994, ed. Zbigniew Skowron, vol. 1–2, Kraków 2018.

The reviewed publication is an edition of nearly a thousand letters written by Witold Lutosławski and people associated with publishing houses involved in both editing the composer's work and organizing his artistic undertakings (conducting activities, lectures and public appearances). Letters that can be described as 'business' correspondence, kept, like most of the composer's legacy, in the Paul Sacher Archive in Basel (Sammlung Lutosławski), originated from 1966–94. The book is equipped with a rich apparatus of comments and footnotes.
