Chronicle of Kazimierz Dejmek's "Forefathers' Eve" at the National Theater, 1962–1968

Abstract
This text constitutes a chronicle of events related to the staging of Adam Mickiewicz's Dziady (Forefathers' Eve) at the National Theater in Warsaw, as directed by Kazimierz Dejmek. The chronicle encompasses the period leading up to Dejmek’s dismissal as director of the National Theater. The information and quotations presented herein are derived from archival documents and press reports. The text is further enriched by the inclusion of several illustrations, which depict the original versions of the aforementioned documents.
