Abstract

The addenda complement the current state of knowledge about the life of Mikołaj of Chrzanów, organist at the Wawel Cathedral in the years 1518–62, presented recenly in Dorota Żurek’s article “Mikołaj z Chrzanowa. Nowe ustalenia w sprawie losów organisty i kompozytora Mikołaj of Chrzanów” [New findings concerning the biography of the organist and composer] (Muzyka 63 (2018) nr 1, s. 75–86). In the current paper, the author discusses such issues as the musician’s name, his links to the college of psalterists at the cathedral, the context of the conditions of employment guaranteed to him by the Chapter, the composer’s links to the royal courts of Sigismund the Old and Sigismund Augustus, and the pipe organ he used to provide a musical setting to liturgy.
