As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
The text has not been published anywhere else and has not been submitted to any other journal.
The author has indicated the source of funding for the research presented in the article (if applicable).
The author is familiar with the author guidelines and has prepared the text accordingly.
Attached to the text are a summary (2000 characters), an abstract (600 characters), a short biography including ORCID (600 characters) and keywords. (In the case of review articles, a summary is not required.)
Attached to the text is a bibliography of quoted works in Chicago style.
The author grants the publisher a royalty-free nonexclusive license (CC BY 4.0) to use the article.
Author Guidelines
The manuscript sent to the editors should contain the following: 1) summary (approx. 2000 characters), 2) abstract (max. 600 characters), 3) keywords (max. 10), 4) bibliography of quoted works in Chicago style, 5) short author biography (max. 600 characters) containing information about affiliation, major academic achievements, research interests, as well as ORCID and email address.
General principles for preparing a text Text documents should be prepared in Polish or in English in MS Word format. Any illustrations or musical examples attached to the text must be in jpg, tiff or pdf format, with a resolution of at least 300 dpi. Should the need arise, the editors can offer professional typesetting of musical examples. The author is responsible for making all due effort to obtain the right to use illustrations and musical examples in the text.
The profile of texts in particular sections Articles, Materials – articles and materials published in “Muzyka” are typically 40,000-60,000 characters in length (excluding bibliography). Where justified, we do accept longer works, although they should not be longer than approx. 80,000 characters. Contributions – texts of an informational character relating to ongoing source research or research projects, no longer than approx. 20,000 characters (excluding bibliography). Review articles – critical discussions of the most recent books, sheet music editions and multimedia publications should be 20,000-40,000 characters in length (excluding bibliography).
Formatting The editors request that authors take due care over all the elements of formatting, particularly fonts and punctuation (Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 spacing). The editors do not generally use bold type; expanded spacing should be used to highlight particular words or passages. Italics are reserved for the titles of books and periodicals and for any foreign terms appearing in the text. In English texts, British spelling is used.
