Abstract
Introduction to essay cluster Molière Revisited. The author presents the most substantial artistic and academic projects carried out in Poland on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of Molière's birth. He recalls 20th-century translators of Molière's comedies into Polish and books by Polish scholars reflecting on various aspects of his work and its reception. He also lists articles on the works of Molière and their translations or productions published in the pages of Pamiętnik Teatralny since 1956.

Patryk Kencki - PhD, Assistant Professor of Theater Studies at the Institute of Art, Polish Academy of Sciences, lecturer at the Acting Department of the Film School in Łódź. He conducts research on the history of Old Polish theater, with particular emphasis on the biblical tradition and the reception of French comedies. He published Inspiracje starotestamentowe w dramacie polskiego renesansu (1545-1625) (Warszawa, 2012), Staropolski Molière (Warsaw, 2021).
