Abstract
The article examines transfeminist narratives in two poetry zines: Broken Cindy by Eileen Myles and Silesian Gothic by Anouk Herman, published by a small press Girls and Queers to the Front. The essay analyzes how poetry books and the associated grassroots publishing practices in Poland are creating a new, transfeminist, and queer space of protest, emerging in response to both material and symbolic violence. Focusing, on the one hand, on the collective dimension of activist literary practices, and, on the other, on specific publications by Herman and Myles, the article looks at how the Gothic, humor, and questioning the role of institutions allow for resistance to patriarchal and transphobic systems: both on a small scale within selected institutions and more broadly against social and gender norms.

Barbara Dynda – doktora kulturoznawstwa, badaczka na UW i w PAN. Stypendystka Duke University oraz grantów badawczych NCN, członkini projektów badawczych CCINDLE Horizon Europe, QUEER IT NCN realizowanego na Uniwersytecie Warszawskim we współpracy z Uniwersytetem Humboldta w Berlinie oraz projektu OPUS NCN poświęconego reprodukcji społecznej. Publikowała między innymi dla Routledge, Toronto Press, Atlantis, „Tekstów Drugich” oraz pisma „Widok. Teorie i Praktyki Kultury Wizualnej”. Zajmuje się oddolną kulturą i polityką feministyczno-queerową w Polsce. Obecnie pracuje nad książką poświęconą polskim zinom feministycznym, która ukaże się nakładem University of Massachusetts Press.

Aleksandra Kamińska – doktora, adiunktka w Instytucie Anglistyki UW, członkini Pracowni Gender/Sexuality w Ośrodku Studiów Amerykańskich UW. Stypendystka Fulbrighta na Columbia University (2018–2019) oraz grantów NCN (Etiuda, Preludium). Współtwórczyni feministyczno-queerowej inicjatywy Girls and Queers to the Front działającej w Warszawie od 2015 roku, w ramach której tworzy przestrzeń dla osób dyskryminowanych ze względu na płeć i seksualność poprzez publikowanie zinów, książek poetyckich i krótkich form prozatorskich oraz organizację performansów, koncertów, wystaw i warsztatów. Jej zainteresowania badawcze obejmują narracje autobiograficzne w kulturze popularnej i literaturze, queerową czasowość i postać dziewczyny jako kategorię tożsamościową.
