The Poetics of Remnants

Abstract
The author of this text reflects on the creative process of Eradication, a performance realized by him under the guidance of Naomi Silman (Lume Teatro) in 2024. The analysis also allows for reflection on memory, autofiction, and alternative methods of academic writing that facilitate a connection between the creator and the researcher in a single art-science process. The work oscillates between biographical elements of the wandering author, autofiction inspired by his tumultuous experiences between cultures and various social states. This text consists of travel memories, accounts of disintegration, and strategies for rewriting oneself through the artistic process.

Maciej Rożalski – antropolog i artysta sceniczny mieszkający i tworzącym w Brazylii. Jego metoda pracy twórczej opiera się na teatrze fizycznym i studiach performatywnych w perspektywie dekolonialnej. W latach 2003–2007 studiował i współpracował z Zespołem Szkół Teatralnych „Gardzienice”. Obecnie studiuje techniki teatru fizycznego grupy Lume Teatro (UNICAMP, Brazylia). Profesor na Uniwersytecie Federalnym w stanie Bahia CECULT UFRB w obszarze sztuk performatywnych.
