Abstract
The article explores the hybrid digital-print correspondence of Jerzy Zachara. By tracing the author’s fascinations with new media, the study highlights broader tendencies in his work, such as communicativeness and a mail-art drive required to sustain art-centered contact. However, the networked and printer-connected computer did not replace analogue practices, and instead became a tool intertwined with other artistic pursuits, including zines and calligraphy. The primary sources used in this article include online footprints (blog posts and social media profiles) and paper archive material. The author analyses printouts of emails, metadata, and paper-distributed authorial texts from the A4 series. Zachara treated printed records of digital communication as a “canvas” for further artistic transformations, turning them into palimpsest-like art objects.
