Pamiętnik Teatralny [Theatrical Memoir] welcomes both Polish and English language manuscripts on an on-going basis provided that they fall within the thematic scope of the journal. We do not charge authors any fees. After reading the guidelines for authors, you can start submitting your manuscript here.

We require all authors to read and accept our "Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement." Pamiętnik Teatralny will accept for consideration only original, previously unpublished papers that are not being considered for publication by other publisher (author's declaration is required). The submitting of manuscript is tantamount

By submitting a manuscript the author also consents to having the manuscript checked for plagiarism and assessed through double blind peer review. Our review procedure is described here.

We encourage post-publication discussion of articles published in Pamiętnik Teatralny. We provide authors with the opportunity to address polemical voices, and we mark all texts that make up the discussions accordingly.

PAMIĘTNIK TEATRALNY  SECTIONS

On an on-going basis, we accept Polish or English language (US spelling and punctuation) manuscripts to three sections: “Essays and Articles” (peer-reviewed and indexed; here we accept original research or review articles and articles for thematic essay clusters), “Presentations” (here we accept review articles and essay-length book reviews, which are peer-reviewed and indexed, as well as shorter non-refereed book reviews, which are internally assessed), and “Reminiscences” (internally assessed). 

MANUSCRIPT PREPERATION

Manuscript length:  3,0006,000 words for an article; 2,500 words for a book review.

Abstract: ca. 180 words; should highlight the objectives, methods, and conclusions of the paper, situating it within existing research.

Formatting: Times New Roman 12; double line spacing; paragraph indentation 1,25, US spelling and punctuation.

Quotations: should clearly reference the original source. Short quotations should be contained in double quotation marks. Quotations over 2 lines long should be placed in a free-standing block of text without quotation marks or italics (indented 1,25 from the left margin, Times New Roman 10 pt, double-spacing). Quotations within quotations should be enclosed within single quotation marks. When quoting verse, please maintain original line breaks.

Bibliograpy and footnotes: Chicago style, 17th edition (Notes/Bibliography). For details, see: Chicago Manual of Style. Bibliography should only consist of published sources.

Illustrations: should be provided by the author. Illustrations should be submitted as the high-resolution files, .jpg or .tif (minimum 300 dpi). Description of the illustrations must be listed in a separate document, and it should include the source of the illustration. For copyrighted works, the author will need to clear permission to use illustrations.

The editors reserve the right to make corrections and/or abbreviations to the manuscript.

CHECKING LIST BEFORE SUBMISSION

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The manuscript has not been published before and is not currently being considered for publication in any journal or publishing house.
  • The manuscript is submitted in .doc or .docx format.
  • The manuscripts is formatted according to the journal's guidelines.
  • Author's affiliation, which identifies where the author worked or studied when the research was conducted, is submitted;  if possible, an ORCID iD should also be provided.
  • Each illustration must be submitted separately at the same time as you submit your manuscript. The author will need to clear permission to use illustrations in copyright before submission.
  • The author submits abstract, keywords, bibliography (Chicago style, 17th edition) including the DOI numbers, if possible, and the author's bio. Without providing them the author is unable to complete the submission process.
  • The author grants the publisher a royalty-free nonexclusive license (CC BY 4.0) to use the article.
