Abstract

Book Review: Grzegorz Joachimiak, Lutnia w klasztorze. Fenomen dworskiego instrumentu w kulturze Śląska XVII i XVIII wieku, Wrocław 2020.

It is the first monograph of the Krzeszów lute tablatures - fifteen handwritten books written and used in the Krzeszów Cistercian monastery, containing a total of over two thousand lute pieces. Grzegorz Joachimiak presents in the publication both the collection and its history, as well as the repertoire, its cultural contexts, composers' profiles and performance issues.
